I’m Melissa Dunn, a graphic designer from Arkansas.
I was born in California and then moved around some until landing in Fort Smith, Arkansas around my elementary school years. After college, I moved up to Northwest Arkansas.
During an accelerated course in graphic design at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, I started an internship at Adko Inc. as a graphic artist in 2018. I helped to produce designs and turn them into plates for designs on boxes. Working at Adko, I saw multiple brands, with style guides that I would follow for designing their boxes. I quickly produced designs that needed to be printed and shipped out in a hurry. I became more familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite in a job setting with this internship, which lasted a year.
In May of 2019, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. During my time studying Graphic Design at UAFS, I fell in love with designing logos, icons, layouts, and branding. When I design, I like to create functional designs for the target audience and I like to learn about the client to make sure I can help their ideas come to life.
After Adko, I worked at Graphic Services in Fort Smith, Arkansas for over a year. There I got to create a wide variety of things; signs, banners, posters, flyers, badges, t-shirt designs, magnets, buttons, etc. Graphic Services has provided me with many more opportunities to create a lot on multiple platforms and for different sizes of businesses. They have also given me more chances to be creative with solutions for customers. I have compiled examples of designs I have recently done while working there and some of my freelance work on this website.
I currently reside in Northwest Arkansas, and I work as a freelancer. However, I am seeking a full-time position on a design team where I can collaborate with others. My passion lies in graphic design, and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about my work or discuss any potential collaboration opportunities.
Please feel free to contact me.
XO, Melissa
